About the Pop Up Prayer movement
What started as a gathering of one or two, has started to grow into something very powerful and spiritually nurturing.
Chattanooga, TN — Interfaith prayer gatherings are beginning to Pop Up in public venues all across the Chattanooga area, providing community members of all faiths and spiritual backgrounds an opportunity to gather in prayer, conduct elevated spiritual conversations and make a few new friends.
“This whole movement began in July 2016 in response to conversations with friends in the community about the need to do something to “light a candle” in the face of disturbing issues facing our nation and the world we live in,” said David McCully at Pop Up Prayer Group. “What started as a gathering of one or two, has started to grow into something very powerful and spiritually nurturing.”
Building Community Unity
The Pop Up Prayer Group is an interfaith movement. It isn’t looking to drive membership, raise funds or support any cause beyond creating a sense of “Community Unity”. We gather in worship to God and celebrate our similarities. It’s as simple as that.
Interfaith Prayer Events are Popping Up Everywhere
The movement’s humble beginnings began with a simple weekly gathering at Renaissance Park in North Chatt. The intention is for Pop Up Prayer events to move to public venues across the community. This loose-knit organization maintains a Facebook page for distributing Pop Up Prayer event information at https://www.facebook.com/PopUpPrayerGroup/
